Jake Dillon Chappell

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Chappell of Lyford, Jake attends Texas A&M University at College Station.  Jake is the Operations Corporal and Guidon for K-2 in Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.  Jake graduated from Lyford High School in 2019 where he was number five in his class and served as Historian, Treasurer, and Secretary for Lyford FFA.  He also played on the Varsity Golf and Football team, and was a member of the National Honor Society.  Jakes Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Chappell, were Algodon Presidents in 2017.  In 2013, Jake’s brother, Connor, was the Crown Bearer and his cousin, Savannah, was Queen.  His cousin, Cameron, was also Ambassador in 2018.  The Chappell family has four generations of cotton farming in the Rio Grande Valley and Willacy County.  In 1935, Jake’s Great Grandfather, Joseph Chappell, moved from Kilgore, Texas and cleared 80 acres west of Willamar in the rich soils of Willacy County.  Jake's grandparents, father and uncle continued growing cotton and grain sorghum on that very same land.
