William Jack Scogin
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Cody and Wendy Scogin of Raymondville. Ambassador William attends Texas A&M University in College Station. He is a member of the Christian Engineering Leaders and the American Nuclear Society. William graduated from Lyford High School in 2019. While there, he served on the Texas 4H State Council, was the Chairman for the Texas FFA State Officer Nominating Committee, and was Senior Class President. William earned the honor of the U.S. Border Patrol "Youth of the Year", as well as a 2018 National Finalist Grain Production Proficiency award recipient and earned his Texas FFA Star Lone Star Farmer Degree in Agriscience. In his spare time, William enjoys hunting and fishing. William's grandparents were Don and Dona in 2004, and his parents served as Algodon Presidents in 2002. His sister, Bailey, served as Queen in 2017 and William was the Crown Bearer in 2007. As the 4th generation of a Rio Grande Valley farming family, William’s heritage is deep rooted in the cotton fields of Willacy County. In the 1930’s his great-grandfathers, W.J. Scogin and Herman Cramer, cleared land there to put into cultivation; his family continues to grow cotton on some of that same land today.
