
THE ALGODON CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
The Algodon Club exists to promote agriculture and the cotton industry in the Rio Grande
Valley. Because of this, we wish to award our scholarships to graduating senior students who
demonstrate academic achievement (GPA 3.00 or above), involvement in extracurricular activities, and who plan to pursue a career in an agricultural related field.

REQUIREMENTS
Potential Applicants must meet the following requirements for scholarship consideration:
A GPA of 3.0 or above
Planned pursuit of a career in agricultural related field
Involvement in extracurricular activities

All applications must be postmarked by March 3, 2023.
ONCE SELECTED
Requirements for obtaining scholarship funds include:
Recipient must be enrolled at an accredited college as a full time student (minimum of 12 hours). This includes an accredited vocational-technical school, trade school, 2-year college or 4-year university.
Scholarship funds will be awarded in two installments. 50% awarded after the first semester drop date. 50% awarded after the second semester drop date.
Recipient must enter their first year of college immediately following their final year of high school, and must remain enrolled in order to receive each installment.
Checks will be made payable to the recipient and mailed to the recipient’s address provided on the application.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
The Algodon Club partners with the First Bale Committee each year to hold the First Bale auction. The proceeds from this auction directly fund the scholarships that the Algodon club offers each year to students in our area. If you or your organization would like to donate an auction item toward these efforts please contact one of the Algodon directors or email us at thealgodonclub@gmail.com
